Lecture title: Social interaction disorders

Prof. Grit HEIN is a psychologist, neuroscientist, and professor of Translational Social Neuroscience at the University of Würzburg (Germany). Prof. Hein’s team investigates how social factors influence human motivation, learning and behavior in health and psychopathology, combining brain imaging, computational modeling, and behavioral experiments. Of particular interest are social motives such as empathy, reciprocity, egoism and collectivism, the interactions between different motives, and their effects on social behavior. Prior to joining the University of Würzburg in 2017, Grit completed Postdoctoral Research Fellowships at UC Berkeley and the University of Zurich and held a position as a lecturer at the University of Bern. For her work, Prof. Hein has received prestigious awards such as the Heisenberg-Professorship of the German Research Foundation.

Dr. Alena PETRAKOVA is a medical doctor with postgraduate specialty diplomas in pediatrics, medical genetics and in public health. She is an Associate Professor in genetics and has Ph.D. in medical sciences. Dr. Petrakova has long-term academic experience at both national and international levels, including the post of head of the national School of Public Health in the Czech Republic and deputy director for education of the national Institute of Postgraduate Education of Health Professionals in the Czech Republic. At the international level, she was an international coordinator and tutor of the European Training Consortium in Public Health (ETC-PH) and international lecturer in public health.
Dr. Petrakova has over 15 years´ experience as employee of international and intergovernmental organizations with extensive working experience in health development and global public health. She was WHO staff member in 1999 – 2009, and senior staff member of the European Communities with 5 year contract at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm in 2009 – 2014.
Dr. Petrakova is Past-President of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), member of the EUPHA Working Group EUPHA strategy 2020 – 2025. She is former member of the Executive Board of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER) and since November 2017 Co-Chair of the ASPHER V4 (Visegrad countries) interest group.
Recently, she returned back to academia at both national and international levels. Since July 2016, she is Professor Associate at the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, teaching public health in General Medicine, Dentistry and Public Health programmes as well as leading students‘ research projects in public health.
Since 2018, she serves as evaluator of the research, development and innovations in the field of medicine and health sciences, appointed by the Research, Development and Innovation Council (R&D&I Council) of the Government of the Czech Republic (evaluation system through “Methodology 2017+”).
